When they have those swabbing campaigns on campus I get bombarded with “It’s just a swab of the cheek!!”

Well. It’s not actually.

Sure right now it’s just swabbing my cheek, but if there is a match then there is more. Much more.

And I hate to think that someone who is dying will see that glint…

Peer pressure for anything involving intrusion upon one’s self is very annoying.  Also, that swab contains your DNA which then goes into da big database.  Many people don’t mind that - I do, however.  I’d be willing to be tested for an individual, individually, where I can sign the piece of paper declining that my DNA will be entered into the database, and I can’t look those people in the eye.  (Not that I’d necessarily trust that, but still….)
